Nissan Magnite Facelift Launched at RS 5.99 Lakh, India’s Most Affordable SUV

Nissan India has Launched the Magnite facelift today, with prices beginning at Rs 5.99 lakh (excluding showroom, India). This mid-life refresh features styling updates and introduces several new features. Importantly, no mechanical modifications have been made to the compact SUV. These prices, however, are introductory and will be applicable to the first 10,000 deliveries, which are set to begin tomorrow.

Nissan Magnite : Exterior Design

The majority of the updates are focused on the exterior of the SUV. The updated Magnite now boasts a wider and larger grille, featuring more chrome and gloss-black elements that seamlessly blend with the headlamps. Additionally, the bumper now showcases a more prominent faux skid plate that incorporates integrated fog lamps. The headlamps also receive a new signature design for the LED DRLs, though the overall shape of the headlamps remains largely unchanged. The L-shaped LED DRLs on the bumper have been retained.

Magnite (Rear Profile)

The profile remains largely unchanged, but it receives new 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the tail lamps are updated with LED signatures featuring intricate detailing. Additionally, it now comes in a new Sunrise Cooper color shade.

Nissan Magnite : Interior Design

Inside the cabin, the all-black theme of the pre-facelift Magnite has been swapped for a dual-tone copper and black design for the dashboard, door pads, and seat upholstery. The old black and silver finish on the steering wheel has been replaced with a sleek, full black unit. Additionally, the vehicle now features new textured door pads, dual-tone leather upholstery, and innovative four-color ambient lighting on both the dashboard and door panels.

Interior

The car retains several key features, including an 8-inch touchscreen, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, and a wireless charger. It also receives an updated 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster featuring enhanced graphics, new auto headlamps, automatic dimming IRVMs, type-C charging ports, and a new key fob with remote start capabilities. However, it falls short of its competitors in offering an electric sunroof. In terms of safety, the vehicle now comes equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), three-point seatbelts, and seatbelt reminders for all seats, as standard.

Nissan Magnite Powertrain :

The Magnite facelift retains its predecessor’s power and torque options, including the 72hp, 96Nm, 1.0-liter NA petrol engine, and the 100hp, 160Nm turbo-petrol engine. Both are equipped with a standard 5-speed manual gearbox. The naturally aspirated engine is available with an optional 5-speed Automatic Transmission (AMT), while the turbo-petrol engine offers a choice of a CVT system. Nissan boasts a fuel efficiency of 20 kilometers per liter for the manual models and 17.4 kilometers per liter for the turbo-petrol models with CVT.

The Magnite remains a top contender for the most budget-friendly compact SUVs in India. It competes with the Renault Kiger, Tata Punch, Hyundai Exter, Maruti Fronx, Toyota Taisor, and also faces off against the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Brezza, among others.
