Rimac Nevera R Goes From 0-100 km/hr in just 1.81 seconds.
Rimac has unveiled the Nevera R, positioning it as the fastest-accelerating road car in the world. The manufacturer boasts an impressive acceleration time of just 1.81 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and can achieve a top speed of 300 km/h in 8.66 seconds.
Nena R was designed to surpass the standard Nevera in handling capabilities, featuring a limited-run production of just 40 units. Equipped with the same 108kWh battery pack as the standard Nevera, it promises an enhanced driving experience.
Rimac Nevera R – Details
In contrast to the standard Nevera, which boasts a total output of 1,914hp, the R delivers an impressive 2,017hp. This performance is only rivaled by the 2,300hp Koenigsegg Gemera hybrid. Rimac emphasizes that an exceptional focus was also placed on enhancing the R’s handling and agility, making it more adept than its grand tourer sibling.
The Nevera R indeed appears sleeker than the standard electric vehicle, boasting a lower stance and an array of aerodynamic features. According to our sister publication Autocar UK, the model has been introduced to temporary buyers, steering them back towards electric hypercars. This shift was prompted by Mate Rimac, the brand’s CEO, who disclosed that the Nevera had yet to sell all 150 units produced, three years after its launch. The Nevera R is set to have a limited production run of 40 vehicles, all of which will be part of the same production cycle.
He mentioned that this downturn is attributed to the upper echelons of the industry’s desire to distinguish themselves, particularly in the combustion-powered car segment, as electrification gains broader acceptance.
Rimac Nevera R – New Upgrades
The Nevera R now boasts an upgraded system featuring next-generation all-wheel torque-vectoring technology, specifically calibrated to complement its new Michelin Cup 2 tires. Additionally, the brand has announced improvements to the steering rack, aiming to enhance responsiveness and clarity of feedback. This enhancement is expected to decrease the maximum understeer by 10 percent and boost lateral grip by 5 percent.
A revamped fixed rear wing, paired with an enhanced large front diffuser, boosts maximum downforce by 15 percent and aerodynamic efficiency by 10 percent, facilitating sharper, faster cornering. To offset the increased power compared to the standard Nevera, the R also features carbon-ceramic EVO2 brakes. As a result of these upgrades, Rimac declares the R “pushes the boundaries of driving excitement” on winding roads.
The R retains the same 108kWh battery as its sibling, which was capable of driving up to 400km on the standard model. The Croatian brand has yet to confirm the official range figures.
Launched exclusively in Nebula Green, the R is set to enter limited production later this year. Each vehicle is expected to cost approximately Rs 21.4 crore, before any customization or personalization options are added. For comparison, the standard Nevera is priced at around Rs 18.7 crore.
