This new vehicle is available in both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) variants worldwide, although India is currently receiving only the EV model. Interestingly, the Countryman Electric draws its foundational technology from the BMW iX1, positioning it as a direct competitor in the Indian market.
Countryman Electric has been equipped with a 66.45kWh battery, boasting a range of up to 462 kilometers. The interior and features of this vehicle are predominantly shared with the 3-door Cooper S model. It is notably larger in size compared to the model it has succeeded in replacing.
Mini Countryman Electric – Exterior Design
The latest iteration of the Mini Countryman Electric exterior design represents a significant evolution from its predecessors, albeit with a notable shift towards greater simplicity, minimalism, and alignment with the contemporary design language of the Cooper S. This evolution has notably led to substantial growth; a primary example being an increase in stature, with the vehicle now standing 60mm higher and extending 130mm in length from the design of its predecessor.

The newly introduced octagonal grille, in conjunction with the redesigned headlamps bereft of bezels and the updated taillamps, bears a notable resemblance to that of the Cooper S model. The exterior bumpers receive an ample application of black plastic cladding, accentuated by contrasting trim. Additionally, there exists a distinctively pronounced line extending from the length of the vehicle to the wheel arches. A standout feature is the treatment of the C-pillar and the execution of the floating roof effect, achieved through a dual-tone paint application. Wheel diameters span from 17 to 19 inches.
Mini Countryman Electric – Interior
The interior design presents a similarly minimalist aesthetic, reminiscent of the contemporary new Cooper S model. The central console is notably characterized by a prominent touchscreen, measuring 9.4 inches in size, which serves as the focal point. Surrounding the touchscreen are four carefully integrated vertical air conditioning vents, absent of any instrument cluster located in the rear. The central console has undergone a simplification process, featuring a singular row of toggle switches for a select number of essential vehicle functions. Most of the vehicle’s settings, including the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system, are managed through the touchscreen interface.
The enhanced size of the SUV has facilitated the expansion of its center console, which now boasts wider cupholders and an additional 130mm of space for legroom in the rear. Comparable to the Cooper S, the interior is adorned with an array of textured surfaces, designed to enhance the overall aesthetics of the cabin. A noteworthy feature of the Countryman is its pioneering status as the first Mini model to incorporate Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), encompassing semi-autonomous driving capabilities up to 60 kilometers per hour.
Other attributes that draw attention include front seats that can be adjusted electrically, ambient lighting for enhanced visibility, a panoramic sunroof for expansive views, a wireless charger for convenience, and advanced traction control systems. Similarly, the Countryman is equipped with a leather-free interior, mirroring the luxurious aesthetic of its Cooper S counterpart.
Mini Countryman Electric – Powertrain
The Countryman Electric receives a 66.4kWh battery system that it divides with the BMW iX1. This model is equipped with a single-cylinder engine positioned at the front, making it front-wheel drive. It is equipped with a powertrain capable of generating 204hp and 250Nm torque. This unit is rumored to be capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in just 8.6 seconds and achieving a maximum speed of 170 kph. On a worldwide scale, there is also a version available with 313hp, twin-cylinder all-wheel drive, but this feature has been set aside for the BMW iX1 to preserve its unique qualities.
The Mini Countryman Electric boasts an advertised mileage of 462 kilometers (according to WLTP cycle) on a full charge. It can quickly fill its batteries at speeds of up to 130kW, boosting the battery power from 10 to 80 percent within a mere 30 minutes. Additionally, it comes with a 22kW AC charger capable of rapidly charging from 0 to 100 percent in a span of 3 hours and 45 minutes.
