Mahindra Thar Roxx Comes with 18 inch Alloy Wheels. The New Thar Roxx Costs RS 1.64 Lakh More than its Standard 3 Door Variant.
After much anticipation, Mahindra has unveiled the pricing for the Thar Roxx. The 5-door model comes in at a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh for the entry-level MX1 petrol variant, and Rs 13.99 lakh for the entry-level diesel variant. The Roxx’s prices are set at approximately Rs 1.64 lakh higher than those of the 3-door model, positioning it as a premium offering above the smaller SUV segment.
The Roxx MX1 base model now features a 10.25-inch touchscreen and 18-inch wheels. The entry-level trim offers both petrol and diesel engine options. The base variant is equipped with a manual gearbox.
Mahindra Thar Roxx – Exterior Design
The Mahindra Thar Roxx, in comparison to the Thar 3-door, boasts a new grille design featuring six, double-stacked slots, a departure from the Thar’s seven slots. The headlamps maintain their circular design but now incorporate an LED projector setup with C-shaped Daytime Running Lamps, with higher variants anticipated to include LED fog lamps. The front bumper also showcases unique design elements, including integrated fog lamp housings and faux brushed aluminum accents at the center. Top-spec variants are expected to feature fog lamps with a cornering function.
The Roxx features chunky wheel arches and stylish 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels for its higher-end models, while the mid-range options are likely to come with 18-inch alloys. The front door design is a sleek replica of the standard Thar, but the rear door boasts a unique, vertically positioned handle. The quarter glass behind the rear door features a triangular shape reminiscent of the Thar EV concept. The Thar Roxx is available in a dual-tone paint scheme, with a contrast black roof, designed to mimic the look of a removable hardtop.
At the rear, the design closely resembles that of the Thar 3-door, but a closer inspection reveals the mildly reprofiled tail-lamps with C-shaped LEDs and a tailgate design that cleverly incorporates the rear wiper and washer.
Mahindra Thar Roxx – Interior
Internally, the Mahindra Thar Roxx features the same dashboard as its three-door counterpart, but it boasts premium touches such as soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door pads, particularly in the higher-end models. The interior is designed with a dual-tone theme, featuring beige perforated leather seats and a dark brown dashboard with subtle contrast elements. Additionally, it comes equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens for both infotainment and instrumentation needs on the top trims.
The higher-end variants are also looking forward to features such as cooled seats for the front row, ambient and footwell lighting, a wireless charging pad, automatic climate control, all four power windows, a sliding front armrest, a cooled glove box, and a remote fuel opening setup. Unfortunately, these features are absent in the Thar 3-door model.
Mahindra has equipped the entry-level Thar Roxx variant with LED lighting, a dual-tone exterior finish, 18-inch steel wheels, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, push button start, adjustable driver’s seat height, 60:40 split folding rear bench seats, rear AC vents, and a rear USB-C port. In terms of safety features, the MX1 variant is equipped with six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and three-point seat belts for all passengers
Mahindra Thar Roxx MX1 – Powertrain
This base Thar Roxx variant is powered by a 162hp, 330Nm, 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine with a manual gearbox, and an optional 152hp, 330Nm 2.2-liter diesel engine also equipped with a manual gearbox.
