Kia India has introduced the EV9 electric SUV in India, priced at Rs 1.3 crore, but it comes only in the fully loaded GT-Line trim. The EV9 is being launched as a CBU and has quickly become Kia’s flagship model in the country, positioned above the EV6. The EV9 features a spacious 6-seater layout, all-wheel drive, and an array of advanced features. Together, its two motors deliver a combined power output of 384 horsepower and 700 Newton meters of torque. Additionally, it is available for lease.

The Kia EV9 features vertically stacked LED headlamps complemented by L-shaped DRLs, along with a closed-off grille that seamlessly integrates digital-pattern lighting. Its LED tail-lamps boast a sleek design, while the SUV’s tailgate is characterized by a clean tailgate. Additionally, it is equipped with a spoiler and a dual-tone bumper featuring a skid plate. Measuring at 5,015mm in length, 1,980mm in width, and standing at 1,780mm tall, the EV9 also boasts a wheelbase of 3,100mm.

Inside the cabin, the EV9 boasts a dual-screen display that houses a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a similarly sized digital instrument cluster. It comes equipped with a four-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated logo. Additionally, it offers storage space under the center console and physical controls conveniently placed right below the air conditioning vents. The EV9 is equipped with a standard 6-seater layout, featuring captain’s chairs in the second row for added comfort. It boasts a range of features designed for convenience and luxury, including electric seat adjustments, a massage function, and adjustable leg supports. Additionally, the EV9 offers three-zone climate control for optimal comfort, dual-electric sunroofs for an open-air experience, a head-up display for enhanced visibility, a digital rear-view mirror for a clear view of the road, vehicle-to-load functionality for easy loading and unloading, a 14-speaker Meridian audio system for immersive sound, a digital key for easy access, over-the-air (OTA) updates for the latest software enhancements, and the latest version of Kia Connect’s connected car technology for seamless connectivity.

In terms of safety, the e-SUV is outfitted with an impressive array of features. It boasts 10 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill descent control, vehicle stability management, parking sensors at the front, sides, and rear, all-wheel disc brakes, and a 360-degree camera. Additionally, it is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include Forward Collision Warning and Avoidance Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and more.

Kia EV9 Powertrain :

The India-spec EV9 is equipped with a 99.8kWh battery pack, which drives two electric motors for an all-wheel-drive setup. Together, these motors generate a combined power of 384hp and 700Nm, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0-100kph in just 5.3 seconds. It boasts an ARAI-certified range of 561km. The battery can be fully charged from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using a 350kW DC fast charger.

Kia EV9 Rivals :

Although the EV9 does not have direct competitors in India, it competes with luxury electric SUVs like the Mercedes EQS SUV, EQE SUV, BMW iX, and Audi Q8 e-tron.
