BMW Launched Electric Version of 5 series. BMW i5 M60 xDrive in India at 1.20 Crore (ex-showroom). Lots of changes we get to see in BMW i5 M60. BMW has only launched one varient i.e. M60 in India. M60 is fully loaded variant.
Overview of i5 M60:
BMW Launched electric version of 5 series the BMW i5 M60 in India at RS 1.20 crores (ex-showroom). Lots of new changes we get in new i5. It is more aggressive & always ready to hit the roads. Lots of piano black is used in the car for sporty look. BMW has offered only one varient for Indian customers which is M60 xDrive.
The M60 xDrive is fully loaded varient. In new i5 we get two electric motors which produces a massive 601 Hp. It goes from 0-100 in just 3.5 sec. The top speed of i5 is 230 Km/Hr which i thing is restricted. The range of car claimed by the company is about 516 kms but is real life conditions we can get range of upto 400-450 kms depending on driving style.
Like other new BMW cars the i5 also get new design Flushed door handles for better aerodynamics. The new i5 gets 20 inch M light Alloy wheels star-sports style.
Exterior Of i5 :
From exterior it looks very sporty & aggressive with sharp body line & panels. New i5 gets new design kidney grill which is not fully open it has vents for cooling but are small because of radar system integrated in Kidney grill. BMW has given a LED surrounding to the kidney grill which BMW calls kidney iconic glow which is eye catchy especially in the dark it look very meaningful. In i5 M60 varient we get typical hand crafted M-Mirrors in carbon fiber finish.
if customer want his car to look more appealing customer can opt for carbon fiber package where you will get to see exposed carbon fiber all over the body line. As we come to side we get to see new door handle design which BMW calls flushed door handles for better aerodynamic. From back we get new taillight design and company has provided a suttle lip spoiler for sporty look which is made of light weight carbon fiber.
It increases the down-force on the rear axle. Spoiler is provided for better high speed stability. In new i5 M60 we get rear wheel steering which rotates rear wheel only by 2.5 degree It is given for better flexibility, for better handling at high speed. BMW has given adaptive M configured suspension in i5 M60. As we get lot of power & performance from new i5 so to control the adrenaline rush of i5 M60 BMW has given M-sports braking with red calipers & M logo on it larger, internally ventilated dics grip powerfully even under heavy load
Interior Of i5 :
In new i5 we get all black interior as standard to give it sporty feeling to driver. Like other BMW cars i5 also gets new updated dashboard screens. one is speedometer and other is infotainment system. In this varient specific we get M-Sports display in instrument panel. We gets sporty flat bottom steering with red strip which is electrically adjusted and get all essential buttons on steering wheel including cruise control button. it also gets head’s up display which gives all the information like speed, lane, range etc.
In i5 we get sporty seats in an M Alcantara / Veganza leather. The high quality material is perforated & pleasantly breathable. In i5 we get 4 zone climate control system. We also get a massive panoramic sunroof to give airy feeling. A very unique feature we get in i5 is interaction bar. Interaction bar starts from left door and continues from dashboard and end on right door.
There are mainly two function of interaction bar (1-ambient light) (2-It changes its colour according to driving mode we select). In i5 we get best sound system. the sound system is from Bowers & wilkins surround sound system with 17 speakers & 655 watts of power in a customized audio system. we also get audio track for different riding modes so that it does not feel bore to drive the vehicle.

BMW has provided a normal charging accessories to charge your vehicle at home which is very convenient. generally home chargers are AC powered. Second option is the DC fast charging which we can use on the go. In i5 supports upto 205 KW DC fast charging which will charge your vehicle from 10%-80% in just 30 min.
