2024 Tata Curvv ICE Revealed Ahead of Launch

Curvv is set to be powered by two 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engines and a 1.5-liter diesel engine. This lineup positions Curv to rival the Creta, Seltos, and other midsize SUVs in terms of performance and power.

Tata has finally revealed its highly anticipated Curvv coupe-SUV in India, showcasing its production-spec version. This sleek coupe-SUV is available in three engine options, each equipped with both manual and automatic gearbox choices. The car manufacturer will announce the prices of these models on September 2.

Tata Curvv ICE – Interior & Exterior Design

The Curvv, inspired by the Nexon, bears a striking resemblance to the compact SUV from the front. However, its profile offers a stark contrast, appearing significantly longer. The coupe roofline descends sharply, and the wheel arches feature a distinctive squircle design. At the rear, it boasts a rooftop-mounted spoiler, which is a single-piece unit designed to resemble the concept’s split spoiler. This spoiler gracefully dips in the center. The tail lights span the entire width of the tailgate, and below, a robust dual-tone bumper adds to its aesthetic appeal.

Tata is introducing the Curvv in six distinct variants: Smart, Pure+, Creative, Creative+ S, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ A. The interior design of the Curvv is a continuation of the Nexon and Nexon EV models, with a few notable updates, including a dual-tone burgundy and black theme. The dashboard and center console are identical, while the steering wheel design is borrowed from the Harrier and Safari models.

The Tata Curvv is equipped with a segment-first powered tailgate that features gesture control, 18-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, reclining rear seat, and ventilated front seats. It also boasts six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, ESC, disc brakes on all four wheels, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and additional features.

Tata Curvv ICE – Powertrain

The Curvv is available with three power choices: the 120hp, 170Nm, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, a 118hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine, and Tata’s latest 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, capable of generating 125hp and 225Nm. Each engine is equipped with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, with an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission available. This positions the Curvv as the sole mass-market diesel vehicle in India to feature a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Curvv is constructed on the new ATLAS platform, which is designed to accommodate various body configurations, both petrol and diesel engines, as well as manual and automatic drive modes.

Tata Curvv ICE – Expected Pricing

Tata is set to unveil the pricing for the Tata Curvv ICE on September 2. The carmaker is confident that, despite its unique body style positioning it as a niche offering, the pricing, powertrain options, and various variants of the coupe-SUV will position it competitively against all rivals in the midsize SUV segment. The company aims to establish itself as a major player in this segment, following its success with the Punch and Nexon models. The Curvv is designed to challenge the competition, including the Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara, and other similarly priced SUVs.
