Chevrolet Revealed Flagship Super Car The New Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Globally. The New Corvette ZR1 is the most powerful American Production V8 Car Ever Made.
The first ZR1 was called “the Corvette from hell” by Car and Driver in 1990, but times have changed. The 2025 Corvette C8 ZR1 now boasts 1064 horsepower from its mid-mounted twin-turbo V-8 and a finely honed chassis. It is the first factory turbocharged Corvette in history and has the most powerful V-8 ever produced in America from an auto manufacturer, according to Chevrolet.
The ZR1 combines power with agility, featuring a standard adaptive suspension, massive brakes, and over 1200 pounds of downforce from its aggressive aerodynamic package. Stylistically, it pays homage to the iconic split-window design of the 1963 Corvette coupe. The 2025 ZR1 is a fully modern mid-engine beast ready to compete with the fastest supercars in the world.
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 – New Updates
The 2025 ZR1, while based on the C8 Corvette chassis, incorporates numerous novel and distinctive elements, ranging from its twin-turbo V-8 engine to its advanced aerodynamics. It boasts carbon-ceramic brake rotors, with the front ones measuring 15.7 inches, the largest ever seen on a Corvette, produced through a new process that purportedly reduces operating temperatures and enhances durability.
The vehicle offers five new wheel designs, including four alloys and one carbon-fiber option, as well as an optional carbon-fiber roof to reduce weight. Additionally, it introduces new color options such as Competition Yellow, Hysteria Purple, and Sebring Orange, along with various full-length body stripes and a choice of caliper and seatbelt colors.
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 – Engine Spec
The ZR1’s 1064-hp twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8, known as the LT7, is not just a souped-up version of the Z06’s LT6 flat-plane V-8. It boasts updated hardware and optimized existing technology, earning it the new designation. The LT7 features a new intake system, a secondary port fuel-injection system, unique pistons and connecting rods, and new cylinder head castings with LT7-specific CNC machined ports and combustion chambers. The engine-control software is specific to the LT7, and the transmission has been strengthened.
The ZR1 also comes with an adaptive suspension as standard. The bodywork has been streamlined for better aerodynamics, with a flow-through hood for improved cooling and front downforce. Additional cooling features include carbon-fiber side ducts for the rear brakes and roof-mounted ducts for cooling the turbos. The standard ZR1 comes with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels. The ZTK Performance package includes stiffer springs, Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires, a high-downforce rear wing, and other aerodynamic enhancements.
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 – Interior
The interior of the ZR1 adheres to the design established by the base C8 Corvette, with some distinctive elements added. Enthusiasts of the Vette will immediately notice the square-shaped steering wheel positioned in front of the 12.0-inch customizable gauge display, now equipped with a turbo-boost gauge. The sizeable infotainment touchscreen angled towards the driver and the line of buttons on top of the console “wall” have been retained. Of course, the ZR1 wouldn’t be complete without some special features, such as an interior plaque, ZR1 sill plates, and unique steering-wheel graphics. Additionally, the 3LZ trim boasts a striking new geometric stitch pattern on the door, along with the option of blue stitching and a fresh Habanero-colored interior scheme.
The majority of the ZR1’s standout characteristics are centered around its performance components, while the infotainment system remains largely unchanged. This includes Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 Plus system, which includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth audio streaming, a 4G LTE mobile hotspot, and wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is user-friendly and responsive to commands. Any significant updates from Chevrolet prior to the release will be promptly reflected here.
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 – Pricing
