BMW Motorrad India has Launched India’s Most Expensive Electric Scooter, The new BMW CE04.
BMW has Launched the CE 04 model, priced at an ex-showroom list price of Rs 14.90 lakh, marking it as the most expensive electric two-wheeler available in the country. Interest in the CE 04 is now open for bookings, with deliveries slated to begin in September.
BMW CE04 – Design
The BMW CE 04 offers a notably futuristic aesthetic, leading one to believe it might be reminiscent of the Tron movie franchise. It features body panels with an edge, headlights seamlessly incorporated into the front apron, and seats that exhibit an intriguing floating effect, which is rather impressive. Additionally, the asymmetrical placement of the monoshock serves as another noteworthy styling element.

The BMW CE04 is equipped with all-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-ready 10.25-inch TFT screen, a key-free ignition system, three riding modes (Eco, Rain, Road), Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), adjustable traction control, a primary stand and a reverse gear. It features a ventilated storage area with a charger for smartphones using USB C and another area on the side with a built-in light. It comes in two color options: blue and white.

The CE 04 utilizes wheels with a 15-inch diameter, making them among the biggest in the Indian scooter market. Its tire dimensions are comparable to those found on a midweight motorcycle: 120/70-R15 at the front and 160/60-R15 at the back. Although it features a moderate seat height of 780mm, the CE 04 still weighs in at 231kg.
Similar to other BMW models, a wide range of accessories is available for the CE 04, including various seat options, additional electronic features, a taller windscreen, and more.
BMW CE04 – Battery Pack
The BMW CE 04 is equipped with a battery capacity of 8.5kWh, which is purportedly capable of achieving a claimed mileage range of 130 kilometers. The vehicle presents two primary charging methodologies: a standard option with a capacity of 2.3kW, and an optional, more advanced variant, the 6.9kW charger. It is posited that utilizing the standard charger may expedite the charging process from an initial state of 0 percent to full capacity, suggesting a duration of approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes. Conversely, when employing the faster charging option, the process may be completed in 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The CE 04 is powered by an uncommonly liquid-cooled permanent magnet electric motor. It is capable of delivering a maximum power of 31kW (42hp) and 62Nm of torque. This power is transferred to the rear wheel by a belt final drive, and the scooter features a one-sided swingarm. BMW asserts that the CE 04 will accelerate from 0 to 50kph in just 2.6 seconds and will attain a maximum electronically restricted speed of 120kph.
BMW CE04 – Hardware
Enclosed within a steel double-loop frame, this system is supported by an adjustable telescopic fork and a counter-weighted monoshock mechanism. The braking requirements are efficiently managed through the integration of two dual 265mm discs at the front, which are coupled with radial-mounted four-piston calipers, and a dual-disc brake at the rear equipped with a single piston axial caliper.
