BMW X3
BMW India has unveiled the fourth-generation X3 at the Auto Expo 2025. The starting prices for the new BMW X3 are set at Rs 75.80 lakh for the xDrive20 petrol variant and Rs 77.80 lakh for the xDrive20d diesel variant. Bookings for the completely new X3 have opened today, with deliveries expected to start in April.
The X3 now showcases BMW’s latest design language, complemented by a more dynamic M Sport package. Notable features include a new mesh fabric for the dashboard and a sleek curved display.
BMW X3: Design
The fourth-generation X3 has grown in length to 4,755mm, which is an increase of 34mm, and its width has expanded to 1,920mm, up by 29mm. However, it stands 25mm shorter at a height of 1,660mm, while maintaining the same wheelbase of 2,865mm. This new iteration of the X3 showcases BMW’s latest design language, as seen in the Vision Neue Klasse X concept.
The SUV showcases expansive, smooth surfaces with few cuts and creases. It includes the signature large, illuminated ‘kidney grille’ adorned with both diagonal and horizontal slats, complemented by sleek new headlights featuring double LED accents. Although it lacks plastic body cladding, the updated X3 boasts broad, well-defined wheel arches that provide the necessary toughness, along with a fresh design for the alloy wheels.
BMW X3: Interior

The latest X3 features BMW’s innovative curved display, which includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen alongside a 14.9-inch driver display, both powered by the iDrive 9 infotainment system that debuted in the current X1. Enhancements to the interior include a new mesh fabric for the dashboard, redesigned heated Sports Seats, and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Standard amenities encompass wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, park assist, a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, four-zone climate control, and a reclining rear bench.
BMW X3: Engine
The SUV offers both mild-hybrid petrol and diesel engine choices. Each option features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, coupled with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission that distributes power to all four wheels using BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive technology. The X3 20 xDrive petrol variant delivers 190hp and 310Nm of torque, whereas the X3 20d xDrive diesel variant generates 197hp and 400Nm of torque.
